It’s Country Time

Hier werden wir ausführlich die ZDF-Sendereihe FREDDY QUINN – IT’S COUNTRY TIME beschreiben:

Unter dem Arbeitstitel „It’s Country Time“ wurden in den Jahren 1979 (1), 1980 (1), 1981 (3), 1982 (4), 1983 (1), 1984 (1), 1986 (3) und 1988 (1) also insgesamt 15 Sendungen vom oder für das ZDF produziert. Als Präsentator dieser Sendungen fungierte FREDDY QUINN. Wir werden in weiterer Folge über diese Sendungen im einzelnen berichten. Vorerst aber ein Auszug aus dem DAS FERNSEH-LEXIKON  von Michael Reufsteck und Stefan Niggemeier (Goldmann Verlag ISBN 13: 978-3-442-30124-9) den wir 1:1 übernehmen:

COUNTRY TIME mit FREDDY QUINN
1982 – 1984 Musikshow mit Freddy Quinn und Gästen aus der internationalen Countryszene mit ihren Hits. Die Show lief sehr unregelmäßig mit insgesamt acht Ausgaben in drei Jahren an verschiedenen Sendeplätzen im Abendprogramm, mal 45 Minuten lang aus dem Studio, mal 90 Minuten lang als große Hallenshow.
Freddy, der durch Heimatfilme, Seemannslieder und TV-Zirkusshows bekannt war, durfte hier mal in einem völlig anderen Genre agieren. Stars wie Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson, Dave Dudley, Jerry Lee Lewis und Emmylou Harris traten bei ihm auf, und natürlich Truck Stop.
Von Oktober bis Dezember 1986 zeigte das ZDF drei Sendungen mit Highlights, im Mai 1989 außerdem das Special It’s Country-Time: Freddy Quinn präsentiert die Bellamy Brothers.
